“The dog’s agenda is simple, fathomable, overt…”

a quote from Caroline Knapp and a tenet I live by. Honest Dog got its name because we understand that behavior is an honest reflection of our dog’s needs, and that it is our human duty to do our best to meet those needs.

Because when we know better, we can do better.

  • “I knew I wanted someone patient, kind, passionate, easy to communicate with, and of course, who knew what they were doing. I could not be happier that
[Hannah] is guiding us in our puppy's training journey. Not only have we achieved quick and consistent results, we have received additional support outside of our weekly sessions for alternative methods to achieve desired behaviors.

I 100% recommend Hannah to guide you and your dog in what can otherwise be a frustrating process. Her excitement with our progress diminishes any doubts/frustrations we are having and fuels us to continue training. I know I would be lost without her!”

    - Amanda M.

  • “Hannah was always thoughtful and creative when it came to what would work best for Arwen and she communicated everything she was doing and why she was doing it with us verbally, as well as via emails which included resources and detailed explanations and instructions.

In the end, Hannah trained me almost as much as she did Arwen so everything we did together could be practiced and sustained. If Arwen needs additional training or if we get another dog, Hannah is the first person I’ll be contacting.”

  • “When I first got my puppy I didn’t realize the amount of time, patience and training that I needed to allow him to be successful. I reached out to Hannah multiple times for help and support throughout the first year and I could not be more grateful for the recommendations she gave me.

Hannah always lent an ear and made me feel like it was normal to experience these emotions and issues. We are all so much happier from this help! Hannah is patient and kind and you can tell she loves animals and wants the best for them. I can’t recommend her enough!!”

    - Sara A.

  • “Hannah worked with my pet sitting company for three years. She was a favorite with both two-legged and four-legged clients. When she decided to become certified as a dog trainer, I felt it would be a great fit. She is intelligent, creative, sensitive to the needs of animals and people, and finds an easy report with both. You can count on Hannah using her training to bring out the best in your pet.”

    - Vicki H.

  • “We really appreciate Hannah’s education and coaching, and especially appreciate how she was able see Peppermint's personality and growth since her first session! More than training our dog, we needed the education, coaching, and practice, and Hannah has an ability to provide the right information at the right time for us humans to learn and grow in our relationship with our dog.”

    - Nora & Duma

  • “Hannah was quick to develop a deep connection with Hans with her gentle approach and consistent training skills. Through her time spent with Hans - and with us - we see a marked improvement in his behavior. Hans is calmer and eager to learn new things.

We have great trust in her skills and abilities, and give Hannah our highest recommendation. It’s obvious to us that Hannah is doing what she loves - and the dogs respond.”

    - Carl & Teresa D.
